Depending on project size, steps can be combined; in critical infrastructure projects, each step is a separate acceptance point.
Existing infrastructure, power/cooling capacity, network topology, and project constraints are assessed on site or remotely.
A rack layout plan, cabling diagram, and list of any additional materials/licenses needed are prepared; the schedule is finalized.
Hardware is mounted in the rack, and power and network cabling is completed to standard.
The operating system, RAID/storage, network switch configuration, and, where applicable, the virtualization platform are commissioned.
Functional tests, performance checks, and, where applicable, HA/backup scenarios are verified; the acceptance report is signed.
Technical documentation is delivered, your team receives a brief operation/maintenance training session, and the support process begins.
